Celina vallejos

artist & researcher

Born and raised in Sacramento, California, and shaped by living and learning in San Francisco. Celina Vallejos is a Mexican-American interdisciplinary artist and researcher working across painting, garments, textiles, ceramics, photography, video, and installation. Her practice explores material culture, cultural memory, and family history, with particular emphasis on Chicano identity and the ways clothing, objects, and handmade practices hold stories of belonging, environment, and lived experience. Vallejos approaches creating as a form of cultural exploration. Her work has been exhibited independently and through the artist collective Baile 916, which centers cultural storytelling, shared memory, and community-based artistic practice.
